Ferny Grove work is done at your home. Being at the end of the line does not change the price, because there is no call-out fee.
Ferny Grove sits at the north western end of the rail line, past Mitchelton and Keperra, backing onto bushland at the edge of the city. It is a settled residential suburb and the work here is household. We see a good number of Macs on this side of the north west, and with them the backups that go alongside. Time Machine drives are consumables. They run quietly for years and then fail, usually without anyone noticing until the backup is actually needed. Checking that a backup is completing, rather than merely configured, is a real part of the job. The other regular call out this way is Wi-Fi that will not reach the whole house, which is common on the larger blocks backing onto the bush.
Ferny Grove, April 2026. The external drive an iMac had been using for Time Machine backups had died. We confirmed the drive had failed, supplied and fitted a 1TB SSD in a USB 3.0 enclosure, set it up as the dedicated Time Machine disk and started a fresh backup. We waited for that first backup to finish rather than assuming it would, then went through what iCloud does and does not cover.
